Album Covers

Miley Cyrus is well known for her sudden and drastic change. She seemed to quickly go from sweet country singing girl who followed in the footsteps of her well known father, to pop singer with no fear. Her first album cover shows a sweet and innocent Miley Cyrus with a simple photo of her face laying down. This is to show Miley Cyrus as a person so they needed to use a photo of her face so people can associate her music with her. It was sort of her introduction into the music industry. Her most recent album cover for her album 'Bangerz', shows a very stripped back Miley, she still seems to look innocent in the face despite the fact shes nude and covering her breasts with her arms. Miley and her managers probably knew this was going to capture peoples attention making the album sell. Her new look is cleary shown on this album cover with her long hair gone and her 'good girl' aesthetic leaving her.

  1. This is a good example due to the vast controversy around Miley Cyrus. However I don't think that there is enough content in this. How you think she was represented could have been explained further. You have understood why the producers have created this and for what purpose. I feel your opinion could be included in the end and you could compare how her representation had changed between the two albums.

  3. This case-study will be good to use as a detailed example in the exam and you show a clear understanding of how Miley is represented in these two albums. However, the content does lack some detail and to be able to use this as a case study you will have to explore the deeper meanings and compare how the representation of Miley has changed.

  4. this has alot of good points and insight with the inclusion of the managerial side of things as well as the detail in the description of the album covers but it would be nice to get some context (the Disney contract) and to have your opinion on it

  5. The drastic changes were explored between the two covers illustrating the change in her career . You explored the key characteristics of the covers but didn't speculate why the covers were like this.Although, this was a good piece of analysis.
